Due to the overwhelming number of calls, emails and opinions of outraged Americans, the $700 billion bailout plan has been nixed! See?? The little people do have the power!!
McCain had something to say about it, talking about “fixing the problem”. Could you be any more ambiguous? Obama’s comment was about something along the lines of ”getting it done”. As in hurry up and drowned the nation in debt despite what the people whom I represent have to say about it. (They are still our representatives, aren’t they?)
I’m fairly pleased. My democratic Congresswoman Shelley Berkley voted a big fat “No”. I’d like to think our emails and phone calls throughout the weekend had something to do with that.
We’re not quite out of the woods yet, as they are “reworking” the bill to offer it up for another vote this week. After this gloating victory, I’ll be staying tuned for more calls of action in the coming days.
