In our drive to venture out of our norm a little more, I had joined a new mamas group online. Today they went to the Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary and we decided to join them. We saw a variety of birds, chickens, pigs, cows, ducks, geese, peacocks, swan, mini horses, donkeys and ostrich.
But we spent most of our time there with the goats where we all fell in love.
Zeb had a hard time pulling himself away from this little guy. “Sphinx” (what Zeb named him) followed him around the entire time and Zeb wants nothing more for us to find a way to take him home. It took all our restraint to not attempt to fit him into my bag.
The new group is made up of mostly younger kiddos with very few kids around Zeb’s age and all of them in school. I’m not sure the group will meet our needs but it was good for us to try. I knew there are no people as awesome as the Life Learners but I think sometimes it’s good to be reminded. And Zeb told me today he’s definitely ready to go back to our regular unschooling gatherings! Tomorrow! I miss them all so much; I’m happy he’s ready to go back too.
P.S. I editted these photos with Pioneer Woman’s Action Set 1. You can see more details by clicking on the photos.

Ah, awesome pix! Miz Booshay lives not too far from us – she is quite the PW photoshop guru.
I love finding new actions and filters.
Looks like a fun day!
Lovely pics. I think you have your camera specs up somewhere?
Sphinx is ADORABLE! omg, I would have nabbed him, lol.
That must have made your day to hear Zeb ask to return to the LL group. What a difference it must make for him when he returns on his own desire?
btw, I Star items in google reader. They really should have unread though, but strring works too. If you rememebr to return….
Gorgeous photos! We, too, love goats. someday we will have goats running around our homestead in rural Victoria (Aus) that we are going to buy…someday…boatloads of goats!
sweet goat!
i’m loving these goat pictures. i totally want a couple of small goats for pets to keep my chickens company. These little guys you took the pictures of look like they were really shy – not!
Denise, small world! I think if I lived near her I might become a stalker..just to learn how the heck she does it all!
But I agree with you – someday we’ll have boatloads of goats!

Mon, yes I have my camera specs on my Resources page. Thanks for the tip on Starring things in Google Reader! I’m totally doing it!
Cyndi, Thank you! I love your blog but I can’t comment on it. With wordpress.org, I have to enter in my name and url which is only possible when “anonymous” is enabled.
Heather, he was super sweet.
Lisa, they were NOT shy. They chewed on every accesible part of us and were jumping all over and bumping us around. A few did keep to themselves though. Mostly the youngest with their mamas.
