11 Permissions for 2011

I'm all for an upper viewpoint

I can feel it already. 2010 changed my life. But 2011 is going to rock my world.

Two words have begun to hang over my head: Abundance and Gratitude. And I can feel them both churning and stirring up the mental dust.

In preparation for the mind-altering, life-inspiring, beautiful madness to commence, I’m starting the New Year with a new viewpoint.

I hereby give myself full, unapologetic permission to….

  1. Only take and keep the photos I love.
  2. Feel shy or walk away.
  3. Slow the hell down.
  4. Love me how no one else can.
  5. Be selfish with my self-care.
  6. Surround myself with inspiration and beauty.
  7. Say goodbye to my wedding dress.
  8. Say hello to clothes that make me feel amazing.
  9. Have a piece of life that belongs only to me.
  10. Fearlessly live up to my full potential.
  11. Take an entire month off from blogging.

Yes, an entire month. January, actually.

It will mark my longest hiatus from blogging since I started almost four years ago. It will be strange and probably disjointed for me. And I’m looking forward to it. :)

It comes with a reason, of course. We have less than five weeks to wrap up our business here in Las Vegas, purchase and prepare a new rig and hit the road again by February 1st. We will be slammed with things to do and people to see and moments to relish while we can.

But that’s not all, because my time off from blogging is not really time away from my blog at all.

Coinciding with the relaunch of our travels, The Organic Sister will be “relaunching” in February!

I’m going to be spending the month revamping this little space of mine, adding some new awesomeness,  and aligning every part of it with what feels true and authentic and beautiful to me.

I can’t wait to show you what’s in my head! :D

In the meantime, you can continue to connect with me on Facebook (here or here), Twitter or by email. And I’m still available for coaching and other services.

Until next time, I’ll leave you with some things to think about…

What are you giving yourself permission for?
What will you be creating in the New Year?
And are you living according to your own organic nature?

You will be missed for sure!! But I can’t wait to see what you have in store :) .
    With much gratitude—Happy New Year!!

PS-Love the list and bravo on the wedding dress (a pretty one at that). I wonder if I could do the same, hmmm….

  3. Julie says:

wow – so much to comment on I don’t know where to start first.

Your wedding dress is just gorgeous, I love it – I hope that it goes on to grace another bride and bring her much joy and happiness (and one day I would love to see a picture of you in it!)

A whole month without my favourite blog to inspire me ? :-( How will I cope ? Just as well that one of my intentions is to cut back on computer time, primarily, blog reading time ;-) – might make the pain easier to bear, as will looking forward to the new look super dooper blog.

I love your intentions for 2011 – I have only three:
    - to fully accept myself and those around me for who we are
    - to parent unconditionally and mindfully
    - to be open [to new experiences, to trying new things and hopefully making new connections and friendships - to back away from the computer and get out there a bit more]
In fact Open is my word for the year – for the meaning above, and for being open and honest with people, letting them in rather than keeping things inside as I usually do.

Best of luck for all the stuff that needs doing and sorting between now and you hitting the road again, I hope that it all goes as smoothly and straightforwardly as is possible. Take care, and may 2011 bring you an abundance of life, love and laughter With love Jules xx

I can’t wait to hear all about January’s adventures in February. :)

This year I am giving myself permission to enjoy the moment I’m in instead of worrying about what I “should be doing”. I am giving myself a guilt free pass to be who I really am instead of who I think I should try to be. Also, I am giving myself permission to do what is best for me and my family reguardless of other peoples opinions.

Things I am creating this year is I’m starting a photo project, I’m going to take a picture every single day for the year so we can remember all the little wonderful parts of our life instead of just the big things that normally monopolize the photo album. A friend and I are trying to organize a website with ideas for activities based on your childs current interests for unschooling and homeschooling famililes (incedently, I’d love any contributions you might have to that). And I hessitate to say it because we aren’t broadcasting it but since you don’t know anyone that I know I figure it’s safe… we will hopefully be “creating” an addition to our family in 2011 as well. :)

  24. Merie says:

I’m giving myself permission to post my 2011 intentions all over the house, to share them and insist on them.

    Enjoy January!

  25. Okay, sad that you’ll be gone for a month – but good for you! Enjoy the time off.

Only keep the pictures you love… such a challenge for me… I have so many pictures that I just don’t have the courage to DELETE!

Beautiful dress by the way! I gave my first wedding dress to my step daughter who was doing a “trash the dress” photoshoot. I had been hanging onto it for years because I’m just too darn sentimental. When she put the word out there that she was looking for a wedding dress to jump in a lake with… I knew this was the right way for me to let it go. And now I have pictures of her in it, too, which is also special.

    Enjoy your time away!

  26. Alyssa says:

Very nice! I like your eleven things : )

  27. Hi,

Just thought I’d let you know that the links in your categories section don’t seem to work. Every link I click on brings me back to the main page. If you run your cursor over the links, you can look at the bottom of your browser window and see that they all lead to your main page.

With a large family I have limited time, and while I love to explore blogs, it’s much easier for me to spend time on a blog when I can target the posts I’m most interested in. Just thought I’d let you know. :-)

I’ve read a few posts so far, and they looked really good. I’m totally into the Food Not Lawns concept, and I’m considering the whole family cloth idea.

    Thanks!
