I’m writing this down in hopes that if I air it to the world, it will keep us on track and finishing it. Let’s pray it works. These tasks will be split (probably unevenly) between myself, Justin and Zeb.
January 12-18th
- Fix vacuum – the needed parts finally arrived and my floors rejoiced
- Finish seedling setup – grow lights need to be hung
- Start remaining spring seedlings
- Buy silver reflective mulch – This will be used to wrap seedling shelves to retain heat and light. In the summer time it will be used as a pest-deterant.
- Loosen soil under raised beds
- Purchase raised bed soil – Sadly, this is a must as our native soils are very poor. However, it’s a one time purchase and need only be amended with compost in the future.
- Transfer soil from old beds into front yard – The previous home owners had raised beds along the wall with very limey soil. We’ll be turning into our mulch in the front yard. The old beds will be deconstructed.
- Paint the back wall – This will hopefully decrease some of the heat absorption we experience in the summer time. We purchased “used” paint from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
- Seal the front yard fence. – Sealant also purchased used from the ReStore. Zeb plans to charge us to do this one.
- Dig tree holes and test for drainage.
- Finish irrigation – Irrigation guy came taught me how to do it myself. But we’re amending what he told us.
- Plant trees.
- Bathe dogs
- Freecycle railroad ties
- Family photos on Sunday – If we have time.
Sh*t. I have a lot to do!

whew, almost didnt find your comment section.
thats quiet a list! it very brave of you to post it, but go easy on yourself now. and remember to list stuff you know youre gonna do anyway, just so you can mark it off your list
LOL I totally do that Lorrie! It makes me feel so much better when I can look at my list and see all I’ve done. I’ll even add things *after* I did them. Then if my paper looks too messy I have to redo my list. Kinda counter-productive with that sense of accomplishment feeling I love so much but I guess that’s when my OCD takes over.
