Inspiration Monday – The Halfway Point

We’re about halfway through our interim in Las Vegas and finally feeling as though we’re making some progress in our transition out of Benny and into a new rig. We’re still keeping our eyes on a January departure, although possibly mid-January now.

We’ve sold the old truck (yay!) and it looks as though we may have Benny sold soon too (yay!). We’re getting ready to sort through our storage boxes and sell even more items and we’re hoping to head up to Eugene, OR soon to do the veggie conversion. (If you’re in the area, let us know!)

The time is really flying by and I hate to admit we were a little ambitious in our plans. We’re so swamped with the transition, it’s been difficult to find time to spend with friends and family as much as we’d like.

But we’re trying! We finally had the opportunity to hang with our nephews for a day and took them to the park. They are so amazing. :D

Little Brother

Big Brother

Can I admit something?

Of all the people we missed while on the road, our littlest nieces and nephews topped the list. I don’t anticipate that changing when we head back out. :)

In the coming weeks we have plenty of things to do, some more exciting then others, some we didn’t have planned but feel oh-so-right. Has anyone mastered the art of sleepless nights…or maybe human cloning? I could use a lot more time. Or a personal assistant. In the meantime…

Some new places you can find me on the web:

And some inspiration from my week:

Inspiration Monday – Three Year Olds Rock

do i have something on my face

3 year olds rock

I did a lot of resting this past week and some of that was spent with my niece who just turned three. Yeah…not a whole lot of rest happens around a ball of fire. :)

Three year olds are awesome, aren’t they? Curious and full of energy and exploring their autonomy and the world around them. It’s been amazing to see how fast my niece has grown in the past month we’ve been here.

I’m s l o w l y recovering from the bug I had last week, but still not 100%. I’ve spent a lot of time reading, watching movies and hanging with friends. I’ve done some hooping in my better moments and some whining in my not-so-hot moments. I’m ready to feel better, but I’m trying not to push myself.

So I’m puttering instead. :) Some inspiration from my week:

What’s Inspiring You Today?

Life can be less than inspiring. The negativity and stress can be downright overwhelming. That’s why I’m loving these Monday posts.

We could all use a little inspiration.

That’s why I invite you to join in every week by sharing your own blog post in the form below or leaving a comment. And be sure to check out what’s inspiring others!

Because despite the messiness, life really is full of inspiration.

Inspiration Monday – Rest and Relaxation

I Love Mail

I love mail. I got this gorgeous care package from the lovely Lauren Luquin. It came with an herbal dream pillow, medicine animal-inspired art postcards, sea salts and teas all dedicated to rest, calm and rejuvenation.

Yes, she sent exactly what I’ve been needing. :)

I’ve been tired but it’s a good tired; a happy tired. I put a lot of energy into my new green living site and my body asked for some time to relax in return. (Demanded would be more like it.) So, I acquiesced. I tried to relax, get caught up on some non-work related tasks, to take a deep breath in, spend time with the people I love and feed my creativity.

That lasted about half a day. ;)

Yup, I’m learning I’m a little antsy without a project underway. (And I’m not yet sure how I feel about that!)

But I have good guys, good friends, good food and good times to remind me to slow down. I have a sweet herbal dream pillow that I swear is responsible for how well I slept last night. And I have yummy herbal teas to start my day (thank you Lauren!).

Life is beautiful.

Inspiration Monday – All This Free Time

The new website is ready, the giveaway sponsors are set, tomorrow is the big day. The day I “launch” the site. :)

I’m excited, anxious, can’t sit still. All my hard work will be put out into the world and I can only hope you love it as much as I do. Oh, no, it’s not perfect. But it’s really good. (Or at least I hope.)

In the midst of all the excitement I also feel a bit of letdown. I’ve dedicated a lot of hours lately to this site. Getting it Just Right has been my project, and although I’ll be continuously adding to it for some time to come, I can’t help but feel a little unsure what to do with all this free time on my hands.

All my passion and inspiration has been poured into it. What do I do now?

The past few days I’ve felt a little lost, not sure what to do with myself. But yesterday I started to remember. I went to the park with my sister and two of my nieces. And for the first time in a long time I felt inspired to capture the moment, inspired enough to play around with the photos, too.

And I’ve enjoyed some other bits of distraction while I pass the time until tomorrow. Here are a few tunes I’ve been enjoying:

Claiming The First Meltdown

Dinner and Mario

Bad weather, bad traffic, too much noise, too little space and boondocking outside a casino, for goodness sake…I managed to get through dinner by listening to music that never grows old and pretending I heard nothing else as I made spaghetti and the guys played Mario on the DS. But by the time it came to washing dishes, sticking my hands in cold water put me over the over-stimulation edge.

What do you do when it’s too cold and windy to go for a walk?

You walk 10 feet to the back of your small RV, press your hands over your ears as hard as possible and listen to your breath for 10 minutes. You try not to explode as your RV slowly closes in around you, going from cozy and comfortable to a minuscule sliver of living space. You allow your mind to wander from questioning your sanity, to questioning tomorrow’s plans, to wondering what your friends are doing, to looking forward to an upcoming gathering until you realize your hands are regaining circulation and the noises within the RV aren’t quite so overbearing.

Then you shuffle up to your husband, accept the hug he offers, and whisper a sorry while promising him it will indeed happen again. Then you take his hand and wander inside to see if New Mexico casinos are any different than Las Vegas casinos. You come back to your warm and cozy home, curl up with your 10 year old and some Harry Potter and breath in deep that life – in all it’s sticky, messy, unpredictable, emotional, dramatic beauty – is still so good.

Because it is good. Especially if you’ve read the great news on Justin’s blog:)
