Vacation?!

Friday was Justin’s last day at work. He told me Thursday afternoon and automatically my mind went into overdrive. How much savings do we have, what can we skip or skimp on? His reaction? “Let’s celebrate! I’m on vacation!”

Here I am thinking about how long the out-of-work list is and worrying how he’ll ever find another position and he’s offended that I apparently have so little faith in his abilities because according to him, everyone wants him. Little did he tell me that after hearing the news of his layoff, he simply walked down the hall, mentioned his availability and had an job offer within the hour. That man just loves to make me sweat. But it sure was a testament to his talent in this job market. Can’t be more proud of my man.

Now for the sweet news: He managed to finagle a full week off of work before he starts more overtime with the new company. He’s making big plans; we’ll see what he comes up with that doesn’t include napping on the couch, homebrewing and enjoying the smell of several turkeys in the oven (great price for all-natural turkey!). But he has agreed to help me accomplish one task on the ever-growing To Do list (now 56 items! Not include sub-items!). More on that soon. ;)
